Vibration welding is a friction welding process in which welded parts are rubbed together under pressure until the resulting friction and shear heat contact surfaces are sufficiently molten. When the set welding depth is reached (measured by the linear sensor), the relative motion stops and the weld cools and solidifies into the pressure holding stage.

Vibration welding is suitable for almost all thermoplastic welds, parts with a permitted unconstrained motion weld in the reciprocating direction, medium or large parts. The material factors of vibration welding are similar to those of ultrasonic welding: amorphous materials are more suitable for vibration welding than semi-crystalline polymers. Ring vibration welding can connect parts whose size of the welding zone is approximately equal to the distance from the welding zone to the rotating axis. Linear vibration welding is used on assemblies that allow linear vibration in one direction. When the entire surface to be connected is flat or slightly curved out of the plane, the vibration welding process is ideal for the part. Vibration welding is particularly suitable for thermoplastic materials, including amorphous resins such as ABS/PC, PVC, PMMA and PES; Semi-crystalline resins such as HDPE, PA, PP, TPO.
